% Steel required in RCC Structure 5M³ of Concrete.

Author:

For a structure using 5m³ of concrete, the steel required can be estimated at 392.5 kg for a slab (1%), 785 kg for a beam (2%), 314 kg for a footing (0.8%), and 981.25 kg for a column (2.5%), using a standard steel density of 7850 kg/m³. These percentages are general rules of thumb and the actual steel required can vary significantly based on the specific design, load conditions, and structural codes.

*How to calculate

📌Slab = 1% Of Total Volume Of Concrete
= Vol. Of Concrete X Density Of Steel X % Of Structure
= 5 x 7850 x 1%
= 392.5 kg’s

📌Beam = 2% Of Total Volume Of Concrete
= Vol. Of Concrete X Density Of Steel X % Of Structure
= 5 x 7850 x 2%
=785 kg’s

📌Column = 2.5% Of Total Volume Of Concrete
= Vol. Of Concrete X Density Of Steel X % Of Structure
= 5 x 7850 x 2.5%
= 981.25 kg’s

📌Footing = 0.8% Of Total Volume Of Concrete
= Vol. Of Concrete X Density Of Steel X % Of Structure
= 5 x 7850 x 0.8%
=314 kg’s
